San Diego Vacation

Hey, everyone! I got back Sunday from a week-long vacation in balmy San Diego, a beautiful city with a small town feel. We spent most of it on the beach, something I’d never done before. It was something to see the vast, endless expanse of the ocean for the first time!! We toured La Jolla, Oceanside, Mission and Pacific beaches and downtown. The day before we left we went to Sea World. Absolutely stunning! ๐Ÿ˜€

We drove ten hours the first day, to the bottom of Utah. After staying overnight, we drove the remaining seven hours through Nevada, Las Vegas and San Bernardino to the outskirts of Escondido, a suburb of San Diego. It wasn’t too hot, which was really nice. I’m not very heat tolerant.

Here are a few pictures of the end of the Grand Canyon and red rocks that we glimpsed as we drove by on the way over:

And here are pictures of Arizona and Nevada deserts:

And here are few pictures of vegetation around the cottage we stayed in, downtown San Deigo, Seaport Village and Coronado bridge.

And here are a few pictures of some of the beautiful houses they construct, Spanish-style, in La Jolla:

I didn’t get any pictures of the dolphins, though they were amazing!!! ๐Ÿ™‚ The day after Sea World we lounged at the beach and I made this sandcastle (my first ever, I might add):

The day after, we left and headed back through the 106 degree desert until halfway through Utah. We then ate, slept and left the next morning.

After seeing the ocean, I can definitely say there’s absolutely nothing like it! It was amazing and I enjoyed it immensely. It is good to be home, though.

All these pictures were taken with my amazing pocket-sized camera: the Canon Powershot.

  1. I don’t support Sea World, but the adventures you had before hand sounds like you had lots of fun. La Jolla is a beautiful place (from the photos I’ve seen on the web) I hope it wasn’t too crowded. And your sandcastle is pretty good even if it was your first time ๐Ÿ˜‰
